In addition to lining up potential directors Joe Carnahan, David Yates and James McTeigue, Fox is said be setting course for a full-on total CGI vision of the Fantastic Four for their franchise reboot, and Bruce Willis is their pick to voice Ben Grimm. They’ll have to move quickly to get him signed and put the movie into production, though, because it’s reportedly tagged for a 2012 release.

The new details and other casting choices leaked through sources speaking to Comic Book Movie. If they’re all legit, Stephen Moyer is up for the role of Doctor Doom, with Alice Eve pegged for Sue Storm, Kevin Pennington eyed for Johnny Storm and Adrien Brody and Jonathan Rhys Meyers in contention for Reed Richards.

Filming could start as soon as May 2011 if things work out. If they do, we really will have come full circle from a Marvel book inspiring a CGI Pixar movie that spun off a Boom! Studios comic book series and preceded a 100-percent CGI feature film based on the original property. [Source]

The pinnacle of 80s action nostalgia in The Expendables comes when Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger meet with Bruce Willis in a church about a high-risk job. The dialogue in this scene is spot-on with the only downside being it was over before it had a chance to really begin.

With The Expendables winning its first two weekends at the box office and profits steadily rolling in, Sly is looking forward to the sequel and who its main villain could be. We all want Bruce Willis to slide into the spot as it not only would be a logical choice given the narrative, but John McClane taking on one of the most badass collection of hired guns gets the testosterone flowing just thinking about it.

As part of Sly’s Twitter coming out party these past few days he dropped a little remark about having dinner with Willis. “Had dinner with Bruce Willis last night,” he wrote. “I want him in EXPENDABLES II as a super villain. What do you think?”

Sly’s barking up the right tree is what I think. If Willis can somehow schedule in The Expendables 2 around the supposedly upcoming Die Hard 5 then we’ll all have a reason to smile.

Sly’s looking for dangerous geographic locations suggestions for The Expendables 2 on his Twitter feed so be sure to follow him @TheSlyStallone. [Source]

‘Iron Man 2′ star Gwyneth Paltrow will also reportedly star in ‘Last Airbender’ director’s upcoming film.

Director M. Night Shyamalan is preparing to release his first big-budget, effects-driven blockbuster, “The Last Airbender,” based on the Nickelodeon cartoon “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” on July 1. And his next original film is a project for which the stars now seem to be aligning.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog reveals that those stars include Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bruce Willis, who are all “loosely attached” to headline the film. No plot details have been revealed, as is usual with Shyamalan, but the filmmaker has assistants ferrying his script between studio execs, who are observed by those same assistants and are expected to surrender the script immediately after finishing.

“Lady in the Water” aside, Shyamalan’s films continue to make money, though his most recent efforts have fared poorly with critics. And nothing has performed as well as the director’s debut effort, “The Sixth Sense,” which starred Willis and earned almost $700 million in worldwide ticket sales. The actor also worked with Shyamalan on his “Sixth Sense” follow-up, “Unbreakable.” If Willis is cast in this mysterious “Airbender” follow-up, it would be the pair’s first time working together since 2000.

Cooper, who is just coming off of smiling for the cameras in support of this summer’s “The A-Team” and presenting duties at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, has a big 2011 coming up. He’ll star in the Todd Phillips-directed ensemble comedy “The Hangover 2,” reprising his role from last summer. He’ll also lead a cast that includes Robert De Niro, Anna Friel and Abbie Cornish in an adaptation of Alan Glynn’s novel “The Dark Fields.”

Paltrow is also coming off of a big press push for her own work in 2010 summer blockbuster “Iron Man 2.” She’ll appear later this year with Leighton Meester, Tim McGraw and “Tron Legacy” star Garrett Hedlund in the country music drama “Love Don’t Let Me Down.” She’s also one of the sizable ensemble cast that’s assembled for Steven Soderbergh’s “Contagion,” which also stars Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard and Laurence Fishburne. [Source]

So this is going to be awesome: Summit Entertainment is reportedly courting perennial bald person Bruce Willis to star as Ray Breslin in the prison escape thriller The Tomb, with Training Day director Antoine Fuqua the likely candidate to direct. Willis will play a world-renowned prison security expert who is framed and incarcerated in the unescapable stronghold he designed himself. It will take all of his knowledge of escape techniques and survival skills to break out of his own prison and hunt down the man who put him there.

OK, so that probably sounds oddly familiar to anyone who saw the first season of Fox’s Prison Break, where Michael Scofield is a structural engineer who, in hopes of helping his brother break out of prison, goes to work for the designers of the prison in order to get its blueprint tattooed on his body. Or maybe I’m thinking of the Robert Schwentke thriller Flightplan, in which Jodie Foster’s character must track down her kidnapped daughter while on board the plane she herself designed.

You get my point: The Tomb will probably be unabashedly derivative. But do we care? Hell no! Sure, this sounds like basically every movie Willis has ever been in – but there are a hundred reasons we keep coming back for more of his silver fox kick-assery, including, but not limited to, his ability to jump out of an eighteen-wheeler on the highway onto the back of a F-35 jet or destroy a helicopter with a police car.

The Tomb’s script was written by Miles Chapman and has been rewritten by Jason Keller, while Robbie Brenner and Mark Canton are set to produce. But really, all that is relevant is that this movie is going to feature Bruce Willis doing what he does best: being a bald old badass who kills bad guys while dropping sweet one-liners. So unless The Tomb somehow turns out to be some kind of slow, understated drama, I’m going to give this one a preemptive two thumbs up. [Source]
